Smartbox Mobile Self Storage

1. How big is a Smartbox?

We have two sizes of Smartbox.

The Standard Box

Outside measurements: 3m long x 1.8m wide x 2.3m high.

Internal measurements: 2.9m long x 1.8m wide x 2.1m high.

You can generally fit all the belongings from a 1 – 2 bedroom home into one Smartbox.

The Baby Box

Outside measurements: 1.8m long x 1.8m wide x 2.3m high.

Internal measurements: 1.7m long x 1.7m wide x 2.1m high.

You can generally fit all the belongings from a studio to 1 bedroom home into one Smartbox.

2. How do I book a Smartbox?

You can book online or contact us on 1300 880 800.

3. I’d like to get a quote first before I book, can I do that?

No problem, you can get a quote online or call/email us.

4. How much does storage cost?

Storage starts from just $3.30 per day. See our booking page for more information on pricing.

5. Where does Smartbox deliver to?

You can have a Smartbox delivered to anywhere in metropolitan Sydney or Melbourne. There may be a cost added for delivery of your Smartbox, depending upon what suburb you are in and how long you want to store with us. Contact us for full details.

6. How much room is needed to park the Smartbox trailer at my place?

We will leave our mobile trailer containing your Smartbox at your place. The trailer is about 6m long from tow bar to the end of the ramp and 3.2m high from the tyres to the roof. This is the equivalent of at least two car spaces. Our driver will need to be able to hook up to the trailer as well, so the more room, the better. Our customer service team will discuss access with you when we make the booking.

7. My belongings are at several locations, how do I organise that?

We can send your Smartboxes to different places. Please call us on 1300 880 800 to check. Extra charges may apply.

Packing and Picking Up

8. How much time do I have to pack my Smartbox?

You have up to one day (24 hours) to pack your Smartbox, then we’ll collect it from you.

9. How do I access my Smartbox to pack it?

Your Smartbox is easy to access. The Smartbox floor is just 40cm off the ground and comes with a small, easy in-built ramp.

10. How do I lock my Smartbox?

When you’ve finished packing, we require you to use two padlocks to lock your Smartbox – we can supply padlocks or you can provide your own. As the sole key holder you will be the only one with access to the box.

11. What if I find I need another Smartbox?

No problem. If you need another Smartbox, contact us and we’ll drop one off for you. Remember that you get discounted rates for more than one Smartbox!

12. Are there items that I cannot store in a Smartbox?

Yes there are some items that you are prohibited from storing in a Smartbox.  These include perishables, flammables and liquids. See our prohibited items page for more information.

13. Where is the Smartbox storage facility?

Your Smartbox is stored at our clean and secure storage facilities:

Smartbox Sydney Warehouse:
Campus Business Park, Building A3 / 350 Parramatta Road,
Homebush, NSW 2140

Smartbox Melbourne Warehouse:
Building 39-40, 9 Ashley Street,
West Footscray, Melbourne VIC 3012

14. What are Smartbox’s open hours?

Sales and Customer Service team:

  • Open Monday to Friday: 7am – 5pm
  • Open Saturday: 9am – 1pm
  • Closed on Sunday and public holidays

Sydney Warehouse Hours:
(Advance booking required)

  • Monday to Friday: 7am – 4.30pm
  • Saturday: 8.30am – 12pm
  • Closed on Sunday and public holidays

Melbourne Warehouse Hours:
(Advance booking required)

  • Monday to Friday: 7am – 4.30pm
  • Saturday: 8.30am – 12pm
  • Closed on Sunday and public holidays

15. How long can I have my Smartbox stored for?

We can take care of your Smartbox for as long as you like. It will be locked in our secure storage facility until you need it back.

Accessing Your Smartbox

16. How can I access my Smartbox?

Accessing your Smartbox at our warehouse is easy and free. Just give us a call in advance with 5 working days’ notice, and we will arrange for your unit to be available for access at our warehouse within business hours.

We will require at least 2 weeks notice when having the unit brought to your residence for access (this may incur a varying fee based on your proximity to our warehouse).
